Finally done
I am finally done with this wonderful paper that I have been working on all semester. I finished it up Saturday night, I was so happy to be done. I went to print it off and we were out of paper! I just could not believe it I just wanted to be done with it. I can never catch a break in this old world is what I thought to myself. I went down and asked my mom just maybe she would have some paper that I could use. I was on page four of printing it out. My printer goes backwards so I only had three more pages and a title page. I was so close, but no paper. I went to the basement and there was five pieces. I was so pumped then I went to use them and the printer started over again! I just could not believe it. Late that night my mom found a whole thing of paper. I have her many hugs and then went and finish printing my paper. It is ready to turn in and I cannot wait to do so. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and remember the reason for the season.

Who the semester is almost over!
This past week has been crazy. My Granny was in a wreck Monday morning that caused my Monday to not go as planned. I had a speech due Tuesday that I was going to practice on Monday nope did not get done. Then Monday night I went to class. I ended up getting an A on my speech so God took care of me. Then Thursday I had my presentation to do for English class. Hope I did not bore you all too bad. I got all my information together on Wednesday night and I practiced and it was only like nice minutes then I did it in class for you all and it was thirteen minutes. Sorry class! The end of the semester is here. This week I have to get my sources all put into my paper and get it all moved around. I want to get the paper in order and start cutting and adding. I have them all in one document and have been making little changes but I really need to spend a good amount of time on the sources. I am lacking there. Not good at all. It will all come together I hope.

Bad but good week
My Thanksgiving break has been pretty good except I have been without internet since Friday. That is not good when you are trying to write papers and need to look stuff up on the internet. The libraries were closed too so I could not go there. I could have gone to a friend’s house but I did not have the heart to do that because they all had family in. So I just working on school work that I could do without the internet which is not much anymore. I was not happy with the internet people I called them and told them that it was not working and they said sorry nothing that we can do for you till MONDAY. I was like what! She then said sorry guess it is just a bad weekend for you internet to break. I said yeah it is when you are trying to work on school work that takes the internet and I said thank you and hung up. I was not very happy with my internet people. I was able to go to the library on Wednesday this week and get information about the town of Percy, and history of the mill itself. I was so pumped cannot wait to tell you all about it. It is pretty cool stuff.

Interview
On Thursday my mom was cleaning a house in Percy and the owner of the home was there. So I decided to ask him questions about the mill and in experience with it being in his home town of thirty-five years. That is a long time to live in the little town of Percy. Since he has been there that long the mill has been there the whole time. I asked him if he sees a difference in the traffic during the harvest months and during the spring with fertilizer. The slow tractors! This seems to be every body’s complaint about farmers. :) Tom made a statement that I really liked to hear. “I have used the mill for fertilizer.” He proceeded to tell me that though he was not a farmer they have things that were helpful for him. I think that this shows that the subculture helps out the community. Because if they were a business that only let farmers use their facility or if they made people have a membership to use it they would not be helping the community they would be closed off kind of. So the Percy Elevator helps out the residents of surrounding towns too. I asked Tom about the noise of the mill and the dust if it bothered him. The only thing that he notices about the mill is that during this time of year he can hear the dryers outside of this house, but inside the house he cannot hear anything. I think my visit with Tom shows that the elevator helps that people in the community and also I got to talk with him about some of the information that I had learned during my visit with Diann and Lester.

Fewer Tractors on the Road
Now when you travel on the roads you do not see very many farmers. More farmers are done for the season. That means that Percy Elevators business has slowed down a little till the spring when fertilizer picks up. Now farmers are cleaning up equipment, at least my parents are. I guess I should not say parents because it is only my mom that is working on it. She spent three day washing the combine. The first day I was babysitting then the next day I went to Indiana then the third day I was babysitting again. I usually help her clean up the equipment but she is doing it when I am not home so that makes it hard to help her. She had told me that she really missed my help cleaning up the combine this year. I told her I would have been more then happy to help if she would have waited till I was home. She did not have time to wait because the numbers of nice days are getting harder to come by since we are going into winter. It is crazy that the farming is done already for this year. My parent usually are not done till the end of November and it was the end of October this year and we even had a wedding in my family this year which added to the mess. We are happy to be done and I am sure the other farmers are too.

Is this semester over yet?
This week has been week productive week. I thought that the rough drafts were due Tuesday so I had mine done Monday night but since I was wrong I was able to work on it more and have more time to edit the paper. I still have to edit more though. My glossary needs some help. I am going to talk with my dad because he has been a part of the subculture for forty years. A long time! He has to have some words for me. For my final draft I need to talk with him and add the words to my dictionary. This week I also need to go back to the past drafts and start working on them and getting sources to add to them. I have a fear that it is going to be a challenge for me to get ten scholarly sources. So I think I need to get a move on that so that I am not stressing in the end. Since my day at the mill a week ago or so I guess I have not been back. I need to take a trip to the court house to get history about the building that my group goes to and get that paper wrote. That is my goal for the week. With only having class one day this week I think I can get that done. But I am going out of town Wednesday and Thursday so there is two days but I think I can get it done.

My Day At Gateway F.S.
This week has been a very productive week for me. I have yet to start on paper three, but I did spend all morning Saturday at the mill watching the different ones coming in with grain. Since harvest is over for most farmers there were only three different farmers coming in. One being my family farm but we are all done now. One of the farmers told me I owed him a dollar because he got in one of my pictures. I was scared at first, but he was just joking. Another farmer came in and the office worker told him that I wanted to interview him and he just laughed and then the next load he did not come into the office. The office worker and I found it funny. This gave the office worker and I a lot of time to talk about the different information that I needed and for me to take notes and look around the office to be able to better describe the appearance of the area. I had never gotten the chance to be showed around the facility was just able to come in the front door and look around. Saturday I was able to see the feed mill, the unloading area and the employee room and the office. The office worker gave me a run down of all the different computers and what is done on each one. There is the grain computer which is where the checks and all that business are taken care of. Then there is the computer at the front desk that is for the fertilizer part of the company. There is also another computer and that computer is used to weigh in the farmers when they get on the scale and to keep track of the names and whose grain is being brought in. I was able to walk around the facility and take pictures. I was also told some cool history facts about the company and some things that may be happening in the future. Since it was a slower day the manager of the branch was also there and I got the chance to talk with him and ask different things. Saturday was a very good day. I learned and got a lot of information that will be helpful with writing my paper.
