Friday Sept. 17th

Friday morning all I wanted to do was to sleep in.  Mom did not think that was a good idea.  She called me and asked me to come help her get the trucks emptied out for dad.  So I got out of bed and headed to the mill.  With doing my research of the mill now when I go to the mill I am paying more attention then when I was just ridding along with mom.  On my trip to the mill on Friday I noticed that the employees at the mill are really nice.  As I was unloading the worker that was unloading me came up and talked to me and we had a good little chat.  Then another waved at me.  I'm not sure if it had anything to do with they finally saw a young girl instead of older men, but still I was surprised to see how nice they were.  Within the next week I will be going and taking my permission letter to the main branch and the Percy one, but I want to have people look over it before I deliver it.  I'm excited to talk with the people when I take my letter in.  I hope they stay happy like they were Friday otherwise this project could turn out ugly. : /

It sounds like you're off to a great start. It's good that you're getting involved with what's going on. I think it's neat how different your perspective is when you're actually looking for something rather than just having a casual interest and a passing glance.
It's a definite plus that the people there are friendly. That should make your research a little easier. You might even be able to make that a highlight in your report. Why are they so friendly? What makes them want to be friendly?
Again, great start. I can't wait to read what's to come!

sounds like a great start! It's deffently great ! It makes the observing a whole lot easier on you! I deffenlty know what you mean about paying more attention when your at your groups place.. i know i pay attention more at the shooting complex , to when things are going on etc...
its great that you picked a subject that you enjoy observing. you think you may know everything about that group, but wait until your research is done! i bet it will be pretty interesting!

You are totally right Denise! When I go to the mill I am keeping an eye open for something that might go good in my paper. Or if someone says something that makes me have an interest to interview them. It is crazy how a research paper can make you open your eyes to a group that you did not pay much attention to before. For me they were just another person I had to wait on at the mill to unload my load. For you I bet they were just another individual that you would have to help out.
